Biography: Dr. Kevin Blume was born in Mattoon, Illinois where he grew up on his family farm. He later moved to Champaign, Illinois where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology with minors in Business and Chemistry from the University of Illinois.
After completing college, he attended Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. During medical school, he took great pride in being a leader of his class serving as Class Treasurer for all four years and President of a national medical student interest group.
Dr. Blume completed his five-year residency in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery through the McLaren Health System in affiliation with Wayne State University and Michigan State University. During his last two years of residency, he was honored to be named Chief Resident. He also held a clinical faculty position through Michigan State University for two years. Dr. Blume continues to enjoy lecturing to medical students, residents, and faculty.
When not working, Dr. Blume enjoys spending his time with his wife and their Shetland-Chihuahua dog. They are very active and spend their time exploring new places. Dr. Blume also enjoys skiing, scuba diving, biking, basketball, and astronomy.
ENT interests: Dr. Blume focuses on a patient-centered approach in order to deliver individualized patient care to achieve the most beneficial outcomes. His goal is to involve his patients in their healthcare decisions so as to achieve better understanding and improve their quality of life. Dr. Blume treats a wide variety of issues involving the ears, nose, and throat for adults. He has a passion and strong skill set in treating rhinological disorders, such as allergy, sinus disease, headache, and nasal blockage. In addition, he has a special interest in caring for skin cancers, scar revisions, and many other facial cosmetic concerns.
